  Scottsdale Fashion Week

If you are into arts and fashion you probably spent a part of your weekend at Scottsdale Fashion Week in Old Town Scottsdale. The event started off on Thursday with the Wearable ArtWalk along the streets of Downtown Scottsdale Arts District which included a variety of fashion shows on three runways. Friday and Saturday's agenda included plenty of hot models and famous designers such as Jhane Barnes,Rolf Lohse, and Zang Toi. Styles ranges across the spectrum from trendy, eclectic designs to a sensational couture line. For those of you that love fashion this is one event that you do not want to miss the next time around.

  Drama Queens on the Green

Ever wanted to know how exquisite a tea party is? Approximately 300 ladies dressed up with fancy hats at The Phoenician to benefit the Arizona Theatre Company. I've been working on a project for the past few weeks that involves Bill Travilla, who's best known for designing the famous Marilyn Monroe's dress from The Seven Year Itch. A fashion show showcased these dresses. These dresses are fabulous and looked incredible on beautiful FORD / Robert Black models. What's not to love, great designs and beautiful ladies! Here are a couple photos from the fashion show.

  Go-Kart Fun

SunCor Development Company had their grand opening for their new warehouse in Goodyear. This warehouse was their first of a series of warehouses that will be built in the area. A project that will take 30 years to complete. That's crazy! I've personally never seen a completely empty warehouse before. This building is huge but I don't remember how big it is. Many business people came to attend the grand opening. Bondurant Racing School provided entertainment by bringing their go karts to the warehouse. What I thought was really cool was that they setup a race track inside the warehouse. Unfortunately I was not able to race but I did enjoy taking photos of the people that did. It was interesting to see all the business people in their suits racing in the karts. The event was a lot of fun. Definitely one of a kind.

Super Bowl Week - Game Day!

What a day! Super Bowl XLII finally comes to a close with an exciting game. The NY Giants pulled through to claim Super Bowl victory over the NE Patriots. I personally was rooting for the Giants to win. =) Today I covered the AZ Super Bowl Host Committee's Pre-game party next to the Univeristy of Phoenix Stadium at the Renaissance Hotel. The party included delicious finger foods as well as drinks and enteratainment. I had the chance to grab some wings which were absolutely delicious! The Flutie Brothers band performed for a few hours which was good entertainment.

The Super Bowl events have finally come to a close. Unfortunately I did not have access into the Stadium to take photos but that's ok. I give a big thanks to the AZ Super Bowl Host Committee as they worked their butts off to have so many successful events throughout the week of Super Bowl and it was a definite pleasure to work with them. I hope to cover more Super Bowl events when it comes back to Arizona in the years to come!

Super Bowl Week - Gospel Celebration

It's Friday night and it's time to celebrate Super Bowl Week, Gospel Style! The 9th annual Gospel Celebration was held at the Symphony Hall where a full house crowd attended this event. I have personally never been to such event before so this was definitely an experience for me. This performance was taped so that people can watch it again on TV. It was pretty amusing in the sense that since it was made for TV there were a lot of bloopers to get it actually right. It was definitely a good time! Here are a couple photos of some artists that performed.

Super Bowl Week - Character Breakfast

As a kid for me there was nothing better than eat fast foods and playing video games. This morning's event was the NFL Character Breakfast. NFL players came to speak at one of the elementary schools about eating healthy and exercising. After the students finished eating their healthy meal of oatmeal and fruit everyone went out to the field to do some exercising. That's something I need to do more of. hehe.

Super Bowl Week - Big Ticket Gala

The AZ Super Bowl Host Committee hosted the Big Ticket Gala event tonight. It was the night to be at the Phoenician. To showcase this evening Chris Berman from ESPN was the Emcee and Jay Leno was the entertainment. Roughly 1000 people got to enjoy Leno's stand up performance. I personally got the opportunity to meet Jay Leno himself. It was quite the highlight!

Super Bowl Week - Kids Day

So I'm back at the NFL Experience for the second time but today it was Kids Day! Hundreds of students from all across the state went to enjoy their day playing football. For a few hours the NFL Experience was only open to the kids. All I can say is, it was a fun day to be a kid.

Super Bowl Week - Super Bowl Ticket for Soldier!

One lucky Soldier was brought back home from Iraq just to see the Super Bowl game on Sunday. Chad McDaniel won the lottery out of thousands of soldiers for a pair of Super Bowl tickets. It was a particular special moment for his mom and younger brother who hasn't seen Chad in a year. It couldn't have been made possible without the help of Packages From Home, an organization that ships items from the States overseas.

Super Bowl Week - AZ Officials Press Conference

In addition to many events and parties going on for Super Bowl Week lots of press conferences are also being held. Today Governor Janet Napolitano, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs, and AZ Super Bowl Host Committee Mike Kennedy spoke to the media.

The media headquarters is located at the Phoenix Convention Center. Don't bother going to downtown Phoenix unless you need to. Roads are blocked all over the place and really tight security.

Super Bowl Week - Super Fiesta

The Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee celebrated tonight with a huge fiesta at the Dodge Theatre. The Super Fiesta was one many Arizona diversity celebrations in the host committee's Super Celebration Series. Guests enjoyed performances by Mexican rock superstar Alejandra Guzman, La Factoria, Edgar Guerrero, and los Super Reyes. I'm not one who listens to Spanish music but these were some popular artists. Much to my surprise the music was pretty good! I ended up getting squashed in the front taking photos during the headlining performance of Alejandra Guzman! It was crazy but still a lot of fun.

Super Bowl Week - NFL Experience

Have you ever wanted to kick a field goal? Or maybe do drills that professional football players do? The NFL Experience is the place to be. Youths all the way up to adults were having a great time with all the football activities. Guests were also given the opportunity to have memorabilias signed by Hall of Fame athletes and more. The NFL Experience looked just as fun as I last remembered it 12 years ago. Be sure to check it out!

  Make-A-Wish Holiday Party

Yesterday the Make-A-Wish Foundation hosted their annual Holiday Party for the Wish kids and their family and friends. This year it was held at the University of Phoenix Stadium over in Glendale. For those that don't know, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the experience with hope, strength, and you.

Hundreds of Wish kids, siblings, and friends who attended this event got to experience the great field level view at the holiday party. As always there was some fun and games, food, and prizes for all the kids at the event. Santa Clause, Big Red (the Cardinal's mascot), and a couple Cardinal's cheerleaders made a special appearance which made many of the kids happy. Families were also given the opportunity to go on tours of the Cardinals Stadium. This was another great event by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

  Countdown to Kickoff

Saturday I was working with the host committee at their Arizona Super Bowl XLII 100 Day Countdown to Kickoff held at the Westgate City Center in Glendale. Lots of activities took place just outside of the Jobing.com Arena. Many football fans who attended the event had the chance to meet with NFL players and cheerleaders as well as getting autographs from them. Sugar Ray had also performed to the attendees along with the Chris Parker Project, and the Chadwicks. Thousands attended the second event of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee’s Super Celebration Series.

AZ Super Bowl NFL Commissioner Luncheon

As Super Bowl XLII approaches with only 110 days left, the hype is becoming greater in the Valley of the Sun. As you all know, we are fortunate to have this Super Bowl in the new University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. To start off the Super Celebration series right, the Host Committee presented their first event with the NFL Commissioner's Luncheon.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to work with the Arizona Super Bowl Committee at their huge luncheon event. About 700 people attended the event to eat with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa. Many people who attended the event were given the opportunity to ask Commissioner Goodell any questions they had anything from personal favorites to current issues in the NFL.

I had a lot of fun at this event and I'm definitely looking forward to another great Super Bowl! Here are a couple photos from the event.

  Duck Derby!

Today the Make-A-Wish Foundation held their second annual Derby Duck Race iat the Kiwanis Park in Tempe. Hundreds of people showed up to watch the approx. 20,000 rubber ducks race across the lake. More than $54,000 was raised to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I had a lot of fun as I myself had adopted a duck to get in on the race. Unfortunately my duck didn't make it, but that's ok. It was definitely a hot day, luckily they were handing out Italian ice cream to everyone which was delicious! Be sure to take part of the Duck Derby race next year!

  Coffee table wedding books

I've been on the lookout for some awesome wedding book companies recently to add to my line of album options. A friend of mine from MySpace recommended a relatively new company who does sleek and simple albums. So I gave them a try.

A week later after I sent them my artwork I received my book all nicely packaged in bubble wrap. I was really impressed at the overall quality of the book. The company uses genuine Italian leather, the photos are phenomenal on 2mm thick paper. The wedding book comes in some retro style sleeve case. Of course you probably would never want to leave the book in there because the book is so nice and simple to leave out for display. The pictures below do not show any justice to the amazing quality of the book. This is something you have to see in person.

A coffee table wedding book like this is included in some of my packages or can be purchased a la carte. Simply click here for more details or feel free to contact me

  What a DAY!

Michelle and John Day got married on what is considered a lucky day, 7-7-2007. I have known both John and Michelle for a number of years from work. The wedding had a lovely Disney theme with a 'glass' slipper and a horse & carriage. I wish Mr. and Mrs. Day the best and an unforgettable future ahead of them.

This past weekend I was in San Francisco for a wedding. Scott and Leslie got married on Saturday at Hotel Nikko, a beautiful hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Scott and Leslie are so natural in front of the camera. They're a fun couple to take pictures I might add. They are a very cute newlywed and wish them the best.

Recently I made my way overseas to Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia for vacation. I have some photos from my journey and will post a few more soon. It was a very fun trip as I took many memorable moments along the way.

Upon coming back to the states I've had some more jobs for corporate organizations as well as portraitures.

I have very affordable rates so please do not hesitate to ask for additional information.

  A Trip to the Capitol

I made a leisure trip to Washington D.C. over the weekend. Quite a change in weather from the typical 50-60 degrees I am used to in Arizona. It happened to snow on one of the days during my visit making the scenery very beautiful. The other days were fairly cold for the most part. Be sure to check out some of the photos I took while I was in D.C. Overall the trip was great and got a good exercise from walking over 10 miles over the course of my trip. =)

  AZ State Fair

This past Thursday I went to the Arizona State Fair. I haven't been to the fair in like 5 years so I was definitely due for a visit again. After all, the best part about the fair for me is the crazy carnival foods and the midway games. The rides are fun, but I'm the type of person who likes to win those huge plush toys. I was surprised with the attendance, especially on a Thursday evening. I took some night shots at the fair. You can check some of them out in my portfolio. If you have not been to the fair at all, I highly encourage you to. But just a heads up, it's not a cheap thrill, so bring lots of cash. =)

  Race to the Finish!

Does anyone have the endurance for a 70mi bike race? About 800 cyclists did participating in the third annual Tour de Scottsdale held at the DC Ranch Marketplace in North Scottsdale. This was a very fun event. Let me tell ya, these cyclist are fast. Going up to 40mph in some areas of the course. The first place cyclist came in a little over two and a half hours. I was fortunate to work with a new local bike company/manufacture at this event, Velo Vie. They produce top of the line bicycles for competitive racers. The bicycles are made from top quality carbon fiber so light that you can lift the entire bicycle with one hand. If you're not a competitive bike racer, you don't want to know how much these babies are. Events like these are always fun to attend. I give my respect to all those cyclists who gave it their best today. Good job!

  Twins!

Twins are a rare thing to find anywhere. I am fortunate enough that I know these two young lovely ladies, Aya and Keighsie. They were happy to let me capture their beauty on camera. These twins definitely know how to capture anyone's attention. Aya can never get enough of being in front of the camera. She was very fun to photograph. I lost track of time during our session since she was nothing short of amazing through the eye of my lens. If you are interested in using the twins for other modeling sessions, please contact me.
